Silly Fun

It is Thursday and forever since I have posted anything.  And I am feeling punchy with no deep thoughts for the night.  So how about some fun photos instead.  Happy weekend- it can't come fast enough!

One Boy Vs. THE GIRLS

Everything about this makes me smile.

This is the classic story of "boy out-numbered"

Once upon a time there were two little girls.

Along comes the boy with a "smush"

The classic "smack"

With a good chewing out.

It's funny at first-

Until you are all alone. :( Sorry O.

Jump!

She’s a jumper.  Always has been.  Looking at these photos, one can’t but want to fling aside all duties and jump.  With unashamed abandon, she jumps as high as she can, giggling with glee.  She doesn’t care who watches or how loud her voice echoes.  What would it be like to do just like she?  To jump.  To be carefree- with no fear of what anyone will say.  To simply jump, bouncing until the laughter overtakes and a body falls flat.  So for the briefest moment, I toss aside all inhibitions and climb on the trampoline. A tedious first bounce leads to another and before long all hesitancy is gone and wild walloping jumps are a must.  Uncontrolled laughter bursts from within and for the smallest of moments the world stands still.  It is just a little girl and a grown woman jumping- jump after jump.  Giggle after giggle until exhaustion in all ways takes over and finally the jump is over.  Inhibitions creep back and real life covers the moment.     As I stumble off the trampoline, I find it is time to start doing more of this jumping thing.  To leave behind the daily chores and simply jump.  Jump into whatever takes life to the fullest.  Simply jump.

Mr. Snowman

In 11 years I have never experienced snow in Virginia before the month of December.  Maybe a few flurries in November but not in October.  However, Happy White Halloween to us.  Paul had to work most of the snowy weekend so Audra did not get to go outside until most of the snow was gone.  However, the ever creative Paul Berry brought a small pile of snow to the deck and they made a miniature snowman on the deck where I could watch. :)  It was very entertaining.  Notice her outfit.  Gotta love the man perspective.  Love you Paul!

Pout Pout Fish

This is Audra's favorite book! We found it set to music on YouTube and we have to watch it at least once a day. Enjoy!

A little laugh

Sometimes when silence fills the soul all that is needed is a laugh. Enjoy.

New Each Day

Tonight I was watching the movie 50 First Dates (for the umpteenth time by the way). For those of you who haven't seen the movie- the gist is a guy (Adam Sandler- who has a hilarious song called Lunch Lady that Paul likes to sing in a funny voice to me- not sure why a song entitled Lunch Lady inspires him to sing to me) falls in love with a girl (Drew Barrymore- who I think looks like my cousin Sarah) and said girl has amnesia. Each day she wakes up and has to be reminded of how she lost her memory. At the end of the movie there is a short scene where she is introduced to her daughter, again (probably 50th time- hence the movie title), but to her it is like the first time. She is awestruck by the idea that she has a daughter. Imagine how amazing our day to day life would be if we treated each person or day as if seeing them for the first time! Don't get me wrong- there is something comfortable about familiarity and routine- I do not deny this fact. However, there is a renewing thought in the idea of seeing things with fresh eyes and the emotions that follow. Months after Audra was born I would stand over her crib with the same awestruck feeling. It still takes awhile to realize the sweet little voice calling "mamma" is referring to me. I love it. Period. L-O-V-E I-T.

We are enjoying summer here and trying to update this blog more often. Take care to those of you far away! To those of you close- come on over anytime- we are usually outside. I am trying to talk Paul into a pool. Stay tuned!
